The leading cause of death in the United States is heart disease, with obesity being the primary contributing factor for developing the disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the obesity rate among adults in the United States has risen to a staggering 42%, while the obesity rate for children and adolescents (ages 2-9) is nearly 20%, affecting 14.7 million children and adolescents! These numbers do not include the number of adults, children and adolescents who are overweight. When those numbers are factored in the numbers are even higher, and they don’t have to be.
Obesity and being overweight can lead to many life altering and, in some cases, life ending diseases such as high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and much more. The good thing is that when these illness are caused by obesity or being overweight, they’re entirely preventable and reversible by eating right and exercising regularly. The problem is that approximately 50% of individuals who start an exercise program will quit within the first 6 months, making it extremely difficult to make the changes required to improve health.

Big box gyms service hundreds of clients a day. Their primary focus is to sell as many additional services as possible, like personal training, to make the most money. Our focus is on reaching clients whose dreams of living in a healthier body have suffered due to the intimidation often experienced in the big box gym environment.
